2008 Body tags- fake?

I almost did a BIN on a Kailey tonight that was pretty reasonable but I was leery of the body tag. Does anyone know anything about this? Kailey came out in 2003 and it is now 2006 so how is this possible? Is she a fake?

No, the 2008 body tags came out in 2000. Lindsey has them too. It is the factory code. 2008 is the code not the year. The other tags are 3371.

Nope. Some of the Mattel dolls do have tags that say 2008. I don't think it is the year that it is refering to though.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I saw it, and the seller only shipped to the USA, but I thought her hair was a bit darker than Kailey's? The seller never stated the doll as Kailey, only as American Girl of Today... I think...
